I have used the type of hole cutters where you hit with a hammer and that makes a mess of the cutting board while you try to get the right pressure on the hammer. I purchased this to use on my quilted sneakers to cut the holes for the shoelaces. I had a shoe body with 2 layers of quilting cotton, and a layer of cotton batting that had all been quilted together. I gave a soft push and this cut through them like butter with digging a hole into the cutting mat.
I had to switch the size of the cutter, and that was very easy to do. As expected, just unscrew the chuck and switch the cutter and then tighten it up.
I have only one negative comment .. It doesn’t come with any way to store the loose cutter heads and the package is not made in a way that can be resealed to keep them all together. You’ll need to have a separate container handy after you open this so that you don’t lose the individual heads.
