Stock Fitting
On the shoe assembly process, the EVA midsole is combined with the outsole away from the main shoe assembly line, in a process called stock fitting. Shoe stock fitting is when the outsole sub assemblies are completed. EVA midsole may be painted, shanks fitted, rubber parts bonded, and logo added.The stock fitting line will have heat tunnels for drying primer and cement. The stock fitting line will have presses and QC stations.

    Stock fitting Stock fitting is an assembly operation that is done away form the main assembly. The separate outsole components are assembled on the stock fitting line before they are taken to the main assembly line. Stock fitting reduces the operations on the main line so the main shoe assembly lines can run faster. The stock fitting of shoe parts off the main assembly lines allows for quality inspections and other more complicated operations that can’t be done on the main line.
